Healing

"Living water, rain down on me"

"LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, I have sinned against you." - Psalm 41:5

"But for you who fear my name, there will arise the sun of justice with its healing rays; And you will gambol like calves out of the stall." - Malachi 3:20

God created you in His image.  That includes having free will, even the freedom to allow God into our lives, or to exclude Him.  Sin separates us from God.  Separation from God is called Hell.  Unity with God is called the Kingdom of Heaven.  God wants us with Him in Heaven.  To bring us to Heaven and save us from Hell, God made the way of reconciliation by the shed blood of His Son Jesus on the cross.  Jesus rose from the dead in victory over sin and spiritual death.  He wants to share the victory and freedom with you too, but you must accept it.  That means living in accordance with the way God has revealed.

"Sometimes a way seems right to a man, but the end of it leads to death." - Proverbs 14:12

Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Reconciliation in John 20:22-23.  The New Testament talks about it in James 5:16.  When your soul is lacking the divine life of grace, Jesus will restore it in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

"Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were sealed for the day of redemption." - Ephesians 4:30

Sin is a burden.  Jesus took that burden on the cross.  Jesus took all your burdens and hurts.  Give them to Him.  Let Him take your pain, and watch Him transform it into new joy in the light of the Resurrection.  The Bible says that Jesus, "bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." (1 Peter 2:24)

"It was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured, while we thought of him as stricken, as one smitten by God and afflicted. But he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins, Upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed." - Isaiah 53:4-5

The greatest sickness is sin because it causes spiritual death.  Are you dragging through life, or do you feel empty?  That is a sign that you need Jesus.  There is a hole in every heart that only God can fill.  The center of the heart belongs to God, but if He is not welcomed there, then He won't remain in you.  Still, He wants to live in your heart because God loves you unconditionally.  Only God can fill the empty hole because only God can love you unconditionally.

"The Lord is faithful forever." - Psalm 117

Come to Him.  He will restore your soul to life.  He will let you drink of the refreshing waters of life.  This is the Reconciliation, the Sacrament of Mercy.  Jesus is waiting.

"Whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." - John 4:14

"If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing." - 1 John 1:9

With forgiveness comes wholeness.  Then, we can experience the abundant life that Jesus wants to give (John 10:10).  Your soul will resound a song of praise to the King of Mercy:  Mercy is falling like sweet, sweet rain!  I receive Your mercy! I receive Your grace!  I will dance forevermore!

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28
